One of the things that make our firm unique is that all three principals spent their early careers as insurance carrier executives. This experience is invaluable when it comes to negotiating with the carriers and getting issues resolved on your behalf.

Steve Gionis

Steve Gionis

Steve Gionis has over 20 years experience in the employee benefits industry. His insight is unique, having served as an insurance carrier executive, a business owner and a benefits consultant. The knowledge that he gained in each of these positions serves him well in selecting, implementing and managing benefits plans for his current clients.

During ten years of service with Prudential Healthcare, Steve developed and managed provider networks before taking responsibility for the underwriting, sales and management of a book of business that exceeded $100 million in premium. In 1999 he joined Paramount Dental Plan as a managing partner, assuming responsibility for the company’s sales and operations. During his tenure, the company grew from 50,000 to 250,000 members before being purchased by SafeGuard Dental Plan in 2002.

In January 2003, Steve acquired a small insurance brokerage that was founded in 1980. This has evolved into GCD Insurance Consultants, a full-service employee benefits consulting firm that serves over 200 companies throughout the United States.

Steve is a graduate of Stetson University with a degree in Finance. He earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Tampa, and has completed post-graduate work in the Master of Health Administration program at the University of South Florida. He is married with four children and enjoys playing football, basketball and tennis as well as coaching youth soccer and baseball.

Rich Caulley

Rich Caulley

Rich Caulley was part of the initial purchase of the agency in 2003 and joined the firm full-time in 2004, bringing with him a wealth of Financial and Human Resources knowledge.

Rich began his career as a Certified Public Accountant managing audits, reviews, compilations and income tax issues for clients in various industries. In 1996, he joined Concentric Systems, Inc. where he had responsibility for all financial issues as well as human resources, benefits and payroll. In his five years at CSI, Rich implemented a complete employee benefits program while managing a staff that grew from 20 to 120 employees.

In November 2000, Rich joined Paramount Dental Plan where he managed daily operations including Customer Service, Provider Relations, Claims, Billing and Eligibility. He was responsible for all Human Resources functions, as well as Department of Insurance compliance and reporting. Upon the sale of Paramount to SafeGuard Dental Plan, Rich was named the Director of Operations where his role was expanded to include oversight of the company’s sales and account management divisions.

Rich earned his Bachelor of Business in Accounting from Stetson University. His certifications include a Life, Health and Annuities License, a CPA certificate and a SPHR certification. He is married with two children and enjoys playing football, tennis and soccer, as well as coaching youth sports.

Joshua D. Dillinger

Joshua D. Dillinger

Josh joined GCD Insurance Consultants in 2005 bringing with him over 19 years of employee benefits experience and an extensive background in insurance carrier operations.

Prior to joining GCD Insurance Consultants, Josh represented Prudential Healthcare for over seven years where he was responsible for many areas including the growth of local physician networks, insurance product development and management of a client list which generated over $90 million in annual revenue. As the Small Group Sales Manager for Prudential Healthcare, Josh oversaw the distribution and implementation of Prudential’s group health, dental and life insurance plans to the small employer market.

Josh accepted the position of Group Sales Director with Paramount Dental Plan in 1999 where he continued his focus on insurance product design, distribution and implementation. In 2002, Paramount Dental Plan was acquired by SafeGuard Dental & Vision. Josh was promoted to Business Development Director and led the Florida market in membership growth.

Josh is an alumnus of the University of South Florida, currently serves on the Board of Directors for Cornerstone Family Ministries and is a member of Van Dyke United Methodist Church. He is married to Dulcy Dillinger, a 4th grade teacher, and they have two sons.
